  • #067: Preaching the Parables of Jesus [PODCAST]
  • Welcome to The On Preaching Podcast, the podcast dedicated to helping you preach faithfully, clearly, and better.

In this episode, I want to give you ten principles for preaching the parables of Jesus in the Gospels.

How do preach a parable of Jesus?

    1. Understand the nature of parables.
    2. Study the context of the parable.
    3. Analyze the structure of the parable.
    4. Seek the main idea of the parable.
    5. Be careful of interpreting the parable allegorically.
    6. Let the parable speak for itself.
    7. Do not get lost in the details of the parable.
    8. Pay attention to the conclusion of the parable.
    9. Determine the category of the parable.
    10. Focus on Jesus in the parable.
