I was introduced to Sovereign Grace Music years ago, while I still served in Los Angeles. I met Bob Kauflin some years ago, as we served in a conference together. Our introduction and budding friendship involved many fruitful discussions about the gospel, corporate worship, and music. In the providence of God, those conversations led to an opportunity for our respective ministries to do something together to serve the larger church.
I am grateful and excited that the Shiloh Church Choir and Sovereign Grace Music are joining forces to produce a live worship CD. Many of the recorded pieces will be beloved Sovereign Grace songs, with some of our “seasoning salt” sprinkled on them. Other songs will be new music Shiloh and Sovereign Grace teams have written together.
I praise the Lord for the composition of new hymns and the revival of congregational singing that Sovereign Grace Music has been a vital part of. I am also thankful that Bob Kauflin has partnered with us to show that this wonderful music is not handcuffed to a cultural style. Under the leadership of Joe Pace, the Shiloh Church Choir will sing songs that may be unfamiliar to many, but will declare the unchanging and glorious truth of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I pray that this recording will exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and his finished work of the cross, by which his blood has ransomed a people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation!
If you are in the Jacksonville area, join us for this live recording at the downtown campus of the Shiloh Church on Thursday (2/28/19) for this special and historic night of worship. And, please, pray for us.
Let the word of Christ dwell in your richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. – Colossians 3:16
