  • #064: The Dynamics of Spirit-Empowered Preaching [PODCAST]
  • Welcome to The On Preaching Podcast, the podcast dedicated to helping you preach faithfully, clearly, and better.

In this episode, I want to talk to you about the dynamics of Spirit-empowered preaching. I believe there are three characteristics of effective preaching: faithfulness to the text, clarity of the message, and passion in the presentation. When I speak of passion, I do not refer to some fleshly demonstration. Or the deacons in my Dad’s church would call, “An outside show to an unfriendly world.” I am talking about spirit-empower preaching.

What are the dynamics of Spirit-empowered preaching?

    1. Godly Character
    2. Doctrinal Conviction
    3. Pastoral Care
    4. Diligent Preparation
    5. Believing Prayer
    6. Reverent Delivery
    7. Spiritual Openness

    Question

What do you think is an essential dynamic of Spirit-empowered preaching?

    Recommended Resources

I do not believe the reformation of Christian preaching, specifically expository preaching, is complete. In addition to a strong emphasis on the text of Scripture, we must place an equally strong emphasis on the Holy Spirit who empowers us to preach the Scriptures. – Greg Heisler
