May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. – 2 Peter 1:2
Welcome to Jacksonville, Florida. Welcome to the Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church. Welcome to the 2016 Cutting It Straight Expository Preaching Conference!
Thank you for joining us for this year’s conference. We are glad you are here. And we are looking forward to a blessed week proclamation, instruction, fellowship, worship, and encouragement.
We have strong biblical preachers and teachers who will equip you to declare God’s word more faithfully and clearly. In general sessions, breakout classes, and worship services, you will be trained, challenged, and uplifted. We hope you will take advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow this week.
As goes the pulpit, so goes the church. Consequently, pastors and teachers are our main targets. But we believe that every area of the church should be an extension of the ministry of the word. So we have designed special tracks of study to help ministry teams. My wife, Crystal Charles, will lead the track for ministers’ wives and women’s ministry leaders. Our Pastor of Worship & Arts, Joe Pace, will lead the track on music and worship. And our former Youth Pastor, Cameron Triggs, will lead the track focused on student ministry.
We are also grateful for the sponsors that help make this conference possible. Because of their support, partnership, and generosity, you will leave Cutting It Straight with multiple free ministry resources. Likewise, vendors are here for you to acquire tools and training to strengthen your ministry.
I trust you will not get too far on our campus without running into one of the Shiloh Church volunteers. The members of our congregation are here to serve you. We want you to feel at home this week. And we want you to leave this conference spiritually refreshed.
You inevitably made a sacrifice to be here. And we are determined to be good stewards of the investment you have made to attend Cutting It Straight. May you leave Jacksonville with a deeper, greater, and stronger commitment to “cut it straight” to the glory of God!
All the best!
