Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to the Send North America Conference in Nashville this week. I missed a great meeting.

My friend, Carlos Kelly, is the new Pastor of the Beulahland Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia. He succeeded Dr. Maurice Watson. It was a joy to this week how the Lord continues to bless this congregation.

Shout-out to the Thomas Dorsey Convention of Choirs for the opportunity to give one of the morning messages during their meeting in Jacksonville this week.

Shout-out to the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary for the invitation to participate in their preaching conference this week.

CIS LOGOThe Cutting It Straight Expository Preaching Conference is about a month away – September 22-24, 2015 – at the Shiloh Church in Jacksonville, Florida. There will be workshops to help you understand a biblical text, craft a sermon, and deliver it effectively. There will also be model expository preaching! Workshops will also be offered for Worship & Arts and Youth Ministry Leaders. And our congregation is looking forward to serving you! Register today!

CD OF THE WEEK: I love Gospel Music. I am also a big critic, because too much Gospel Music is music but not gospel (Click here and here and here). But there are wonderful exceptions. I will periodically recommend CDs or songs here in my Saturday Shout-Outs. First up… I am really enjoying Simply Amazing by Dr. F. James Clark and the Shalom Church (City of Peace) Mass Choir.
