A big shout-out to Preacher Mike for the opportunity to preach Monday Night Live at the First Baptist Church of Indian Trail in North Carolina.
Shout out to President Arthur Lane and the pastors of Corpus Christi for the opportunity to preach the citywide revival this week. I first preached this meeting about fifteen years ago, with my brother Kevin. And it was a joy to preach the gospel in Corpus Christi again!
Speaking of Kevin, the Lord has provided a remarkable new worship facility for the New Life in Christ Church. Kevin and Linda Willis are celebrating their first weekend in the new building this weekend. Praise the Lord!
The Cutting It Straight Expository Preaching Conference is less than two months away. It will be held September 24-26, 2014, in Jacksonville, Florida. This three-day event will teach, model, and promote expository preaching and teaching. It is designed for pastors, associate ministers, and Sunday School teachers. All are welcome. Register today. And bring a friend.

I for one do not want for an instant to be thrilled with emotion, to become a junkie of my feelings, or to be enslaved to raw passion – and tell myself it’s Christ with which I’m thrilled. I don’t want a cheat. I want Christ. I want to examine from every angle the wondrous cross on which my Savior willingly gave up His perfect life for my miserable, unworthy one. – Douglas Bond, The Poetic Wonder of Isaac Watts, p. 137
