  • We had a blessed day of worship at Shiloh yesterday.

It was absolutely wonderful to be home with my congregation. There’s no place like home!

We celebrated the Lord’s Supper today and welcomed our new members into the Shiloh family. It is always a special time.

It was good to have our guests in worship with us.

“There Is A Fountain” is my favorite Communion hymn.

I worked for more than a week on Psalm 61. I was looking forward to preaching it this. It left me Saturday night.

I look forward to preaching Psalm 61 at some point in the near future.

I preached on “The Way of Salvation” from Ephesians 2:8-10.

I sought to explain four doctrines of salvation from this succinct yet comprehensive summary of the way of salvation:

    1. The Source of Salvation: “For by grace you have been saved...” (2:8a)
    2. The Means of Salvation: “through faith” (2:8a)
    3. The Nature of Salvation: “And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (2:8b-9)
    4. The Purpose of Salvation: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (2:10)

Ephesians is one of my favorite Epistles.

I preached from a full hardy-copy manuscript at the 8 AM service. I rarely do that. But I got though it.

Praise God for those who were saved and added to the church.

Next weekend is our Youth Explosion weekend. I plan to study Proverbs 20:24-28 to preach. I want to call it “Big Lessons from Little Things.” We’ll see how it goes.

The Miami Heat lost a nail-biter to the Boston Celtics, 91-93.

I hear the heat will activate Chris Bosh for game 5. Hope so.

Justin Blackmon, the first-round draft pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars, was arrested this weekend in Oklahoma for aggravated DUI charges. Seems like it is going to be a promising season.

Tiger Woods won the Memorial Classic in dramatic fashion and tied Jack Nicklaus with 73 championships. Is Tiger back?

Sunday night television. That’s all I can say.
