  • We had a good day of worship at the Shiloh Church.

I love my congregation! It is a privilege to serve such a great people.

We did not have Bible Study Fellowship groups today. During our BSF hour, I met with our Deacons for prayer. It was refreshing and encouraging. I found renewed strength to preach our second service after our time of prayer.

We celebrated the Lord’s Supper and welcomed in our new members who completed our New Members Class Saturday.

As always, I am grateful for all of our guests who joined us in worship.

I preached a message from Psalm 4 entitled, “Something Good Will Come From This!”

Sermon Point: Confidence in God gives calm assurance that everything is going to be all right.

I preached this message to myself in a room full of other people. I really needed the study this week and the message today.

Psalm 4 is a tough nut to crack. There are many difficulties in the structure and interpretation that have to be sorted out. But I loved every minute of it!

If you have not noticed already, I have abandoned 1 John for a few weeks. I trust I will get back to it soon.

Praise God for those who were saved and added to the church today.

    Next Sunday is Mother’s Day.

In the afternoon, we worshiped with the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Herb Anderson, a son of Shiloh, is the pastor. We helped to celebrate his 12th pastoral anniversary.

Pastor Terry Anderson returned to the pulpit of the Lily Grove Baptist Church in Houston after battling sickness for several months. Praise the Lord for answered prayer!

I took my two oldest to see The Avengers this weekend. Okay, I let them come with me to see it! Great movie! It rewrote the record books this weekend.

Saturday night, Floyd Mayweather defeated Miguel Cotto in a 12-round unanimous decision. Cotto came to fight. It was the most suspense there has been in a Mayweather fight in a long time. But enough is enough. Let’s get on with the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight!

In the pre-fight, Sugar Shane Moseley got beat up by some 21-year-old kid. It was tough to watch. I really hope we have seen Moseley fight for the last time.

The Heat lost to the Nicks today. But I am glad the Nicks got one. I was starting to feel sorry for them. We will put them out of their misery Wednesday night.

The Kentucky Derby happened this weekend. That’s all I know about it.

I am so happy Albert Pujols finally hit his first homerun, so that we do not have to hear about his slump anymore.
