Mark, I avoid using the words “affect” and “effect,” when I am writing.
I always struggle to figure out which word to use.

The one thing that makes me crazy is the confusion between possessive “its” and possessives like the above mentioned “Frank’s”. That inconsistent use of the apostrophe is one of the things which makes the English language so frustrating for non-English speakers to learn and master.
